7th MikroFAF - Program



October 7 and 8, the Museum of Yugoslav Film Archive, Kosovska 11, Belgrade 19 – 23h, Dinko Tucaković auditorium MikroFAF - Micro-Festival of Amateur Film, established in 2009, serves as a platform that closely follows the dynamic development of non-professional creativity. The festival will have its seventh edition in the Museum of Yugoslav Film Archive, located in Belgrade, on the 7th and 8th October, 2016. MikroFAF encourages the exchange of experiences between all enthusiasts who express and educate themselves in the language of film and do not hesitate to experiment, reinforcing the creative power of alternative cinema. The festival's program consists of variety of themes and forms, in films and videos made by filmmakers from around the world.

This year's edition of MikroFAF comprises works by 42 authors divided in three sections, competing for three awards:

Best Short DIY Film. The award is intended for movies of all genres (fiction, documentary, animated, experimental) and production techniques, made in non-professional circumstances, without the involvement of film professionals and without professional obligations during or after the production.

 • Best Independent Short Film. This prize will award the filmmakers that do not correspond to 'DIY' criteria, but who work in independent production, without commercial intentions and pressures of the producers.

Best Viral Video. The award relates to video clips that are primarily made for the Internet and often use some of its features (interactivity, streaming, seriality), with artistic intentions, causing a reaction in the mass online  audience, or raising awareness about a certain topic.

Members of the jury – film directors Milutin Petrović, Miloš Tomić and Miloš Gojković – will award Mikropolis prizes to the winners in all three categories. Mikropolis is a stoneware statuette, a unique artwork by a Belgrade artist Jelena Bošković.

A panel discussion under the title ''Film and New media: From Fun to Professionalism'', with film director Ivan Ikić, screenwriter Maša Seničić and curator and film theorist Aleksandra Sekulić, will also be held at 7 pm, on the first day of the festival.

MikroFijuk stand for independent and DIY culture will be set in the lobby of the theater, where visitors can buy posters, books, comics, t-shirts, bags, CD's… Between screenings, filmmakers, guests and audience can have a coffee or a drink and exchange opinions and impressions at the MikroBar.

Since the festival's aim is to be culturally inclusive, the entrance to all screening is exclusively
